12月17日，以 “Should contemporary young people ‘lie flat'?”为主题的英语沙龙活动在一区二易起学吧开展。本次英语沙龙由久久小说 外语协会主办，由2025级英语1班承办。久久小说 外教John、刘练老师，林峰老师以及来自各个学院的同学们参加。

本次英语沙龙主要围绕以下几个环节展开：

1. 主题介绍：  

Theme Introduction

To begin with, the host introduced the theme of the English Salon: “Should Contemporary Young People ‘Lie Flat’?”  

2. 暖场小游戏：  

Icebreaker Game

Yes/No Q&A Scenario Game  

3. 问题与交流：  

Questions and Discussion

① What does lying flat really mean to you? Is it laziness or a choice for peace?  

② What pressures (work, study, society) make some young people want to lie flat?  

③ Do you think lying flat is a good way to deal with stress? Why or why not?  

④ What would you do if you were faced with enormous pressure?  

首先，我们进行了问答小游戏。  

First, we conducted a Q&A game.  

双方同学都积极地抢答，游戏紧张激烈，十分有趣，同时也勾起了大家对接下来问题讨论的兴趣。  

Students from both sides actively participated in guessing the names of signs. The game was not only intense and exciting but also very interesting, sparking everyone’s enthusiasm for the subsequent discussions.

在接下来的交流中，有部分同学分享了他们对于躺平的看法。  

In the following discussion, some students shared their views on lying flat.

外教John说：  

Foreign teacher John said:  

面对巨大的压力时，我会锻炼，去跑步，去爬山，躺平不是面对压力的好办法，我们需要勇敢面对，合理释放压力和情绪。  

When facing tremendous pressure, I exercise, go running, and climb mountains. Lying flat is not a good way to deal with pressure. We need to face it bravely and release our stress and emotions properly.

来自材料与化学学院的同学分享道：  

A student from the College of Materials and Chemistry shared:  

我的家庭很普通，不是很富裕，我不能躺平，我只能靠读书来提升阶级，得到好的工作。我现在大三，对未来的不确定让我觉得压力有点大，所以我更加不能躺平。  

My family is ordinary, not wealthy. I can’t afford to lie flat in life; I must rely on education to improve my social status and secure a good job. I’m now a junior, and the uncertainty about my future adds to my stress, so I cannot afford to lie flat.

来自久久小说 的王子娴同学分享道：  

Wang Zixian, a student from the College of Foreign Languages, shared:

我认为躺平并不是应对压力的良好长期方式。它可以帮助我们短暂休息以冷静下来，但如果我们长时间处于这种状态，可能会失去解决问题的动力。  

I don’t think ‘lying flat’ is a good long-term way to deal with stress. It can help us take a short break to calm down, but if we stay in this state for too long, we might lose the motivation to solve problems.

Wei Ruxin, a student from the College of Foreign Languages, shared:  

许多人工作以后经历着九九六的日常，这会导致很多人想要躺平，生活的压力，繁忙的工作会让人丧失动力。  

After starting their careers, many people experience the grueling ‘996’ work schedule, which leads them to adopt a ‘lying flat’ lifestyle. The pressures of life and hectic work can drain people’s motivation.

本次英语沙龙活动使同学们在讨论中更加从容的面对生活中的压力，也更加有动力去面对生活中的困难，同时在交流中提高了英语表达能力。  

This English Salon activity helped students face life’s pressures with greater composure and motivated them to tackle difficulties more confidently. At the same time, it enhanced their English communication skills through discussion.
